Rupert Clifton is a Consultant Knee Surgeon in Peterborough whose entire elective practice is knee surgery, including Anterior and Posterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction, Cartilage Reconstruction and Complex Knee Replacement Surgery.
Mr Clifton has specialised in complex knee surgery and his work involves dealing with multiligament knee injuries, knee arthroscopy and meniscal surgery, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and primary and revision total knee replacement. More information can be found on his website.
Mr Clifton is also interested in sports knee injuries and ligament reconstruction including surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament and posterolateral corner. He has experience of knee arthroscopy and mensical surgery including meniscal repair. Another line of interest held by Mr Clifton is the study of high tibial osteotomy for young knee arthritis. He has also worked with people who suffer from anterior knee pain and patellofemoral disorders including instability and helped patients with cartilage injuries.
Mr Clifton undertook fellowships in knee surgery at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. He has published papers in several orthopaedic journals on drains in orthopaedic surgery, drain use in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and the role of lateral retinacular release in knee surgery.
