A leader in personalised knee replacement surgery
Personalised knee replacement surgery uses cutting edge technology to ensure that a replacement knee joint is precisely fitted to the individual anatomy of each patient. MRI and computer modelling allow the surgeon to plan the placement of the implant in advance of the operation, resulting in the minimum amount of bone being removed and a better alignment. The aim is to create a longer lasting and more effective knee joint compared to traditional methods, as the custom fitted implant is subjected to less wear and tear than a conventionally placed implant. This type of surgery also has the advantage of being quicker and less invasive than standard knee replacement.
An expert in the Zimmer PSI knee replacement system, together with his colleague Mr Nikhil Pradhan, Mr Sherry has performed more personalised knee replacement procedures than any other UK surgeon to date.
