Mr John E Nixon, MA (Oxon) ChM Edin FRCS, has 30 years' experience in orthopaedics including:
- Clinical Reader in Orthopaedic Surgery to the University of Oxford, treating a wide variety of complex orthopaedic patients referred to the department as a tertiary referral centre. Patients included those with haemophilic arthropathy, tuberculosis, tumours, scoliosis and other complex spinal disorders, as well as children with growth disorders for leg length equalisation procedures.
- At Kings College Hospital he managed children with congenital dislocation or dysplasia of the hip joint, and Perthes disease and was responsible for all the children’s orthopaedics with the exception of club feet which were managed by a colleague.
- At Charing Cross Hospital he assisted in the Spinal Unit for six years and ran a day surgery list of knee arthroscopies. In June 2002 he transferred his operating list to Ravenscourt Park Hospital majoring on total hip and total knee replacements and knee joint arthroscopy.
