Expert hip replacement surgery in Kent

The most common reason that a hip needs replacing is osteoarthritis, a condition where the cartilage covering the joint surfaces becomes worn away over time causing the bones to rub against each other.  Once the pain of osteoarthritis becomes persistent and disabling, a hip replacement is usually the best course of treatment.

Performed under general or regional anaesthetic, Mr Casha replaces the damaged hip joint with a modern implant (prosthesis) comprising an artificial shaft, ball and socket.  Most prosthetic parts are now made using high-density polythene for the socket, titanium alloys for the shaft and cobalt alloys for the ball.  Several types of prosthesis are available and Mr Casha can advise on which type is most suitable in each particular case.

Hip replacement surgery is a routine and highly successful operation, relieving pain and improving hip function for thousands of people in the UK each year.
