Mr Brian Cohen, MD FRCS (Tr&Orth), is a Harley Street Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in surgery of the wrist and hand as well as arthroscopic techniques and trauma of the upper limb whilst also treating general trauma.


An experienced orthopaedic specialist in London

After qualifying from The Royal London Hospital in 1982, Brian trained in surgery in London and then in Cambridge. He completed his MD on the remodelling of bone in response to prosthetic implants and then spent a year on a sports medicine fellowship at a specialist orthopaedic sports clinic in Australia, learning advanced arthroscopic techniques.

Mr Cohen was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University College NHS Trust (UCLH) and Honorary Senior Lecturer at The University of London in 1996. In 1997 he was awarded the prestigious European Travelling Fellowship for the European Shoulder and Elbow Society. He was Clinical Director of Musculoskeletal Services at UCLH between 2000 and 2002. In 2004 he left the NHS and now works solely in private practice.

You may have referred yourself or have been referred by your GP/Physiotherapist. The consultant will discuss your relevant problem and enquire about your medical history. A thorough examination will then follow.


If an operation is needed they will help arrange this for you. Surgery will require admission to one of the various hospitals in and around London where their consultant orthopaedic surgeons have admitting privileges.
