Dr Stephen Grainger is a Consultant Gastroenterologist practising at Springfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex. He specialises in functional disease of the upper GI tract, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, complex irritable bowel syndrome and liver disorders.
Dr Stephen Grainger, MBBS, MD, FRCP, qualified at St Bartholomew’s in 1973 and completed his training in gastroenterology at St Thomas’ Hospital. His research into aspects of functional disease of the upper GI tract was awarded MD (London) in 1986. He is on the GMC Specialist Register, a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology. He has been lecturer and senior registrar at St Thomas’ Hospital, London and is now senior gastroenterologist at King George Hospital, Ilford. Dr Grainger is also a medical advisor to the National Association for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease.
