Prasad Kothari: Consultant ENT Surgeon, Head and Neck Cancer Specialist, Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire

An ENT surgeon with specialist expertise in head and neck cancer,  Mr Kothari has dual qualifications in dentistry and medicine, and post graduate qualifications in oral surgery and ENT. Private surgery and treatment is offered in Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

Mr Kothari is a Consultant ENT and Head and Neck Specialist at Luton and Dunstable NHS Foundation Trust and Lister Hospital, Stevenage. He provides a general ENT service, but has a special expertise in head and neck cancer, and is a team member of the Mount Vernon Cancer Network.

Mr Kothari has dual qualifications in Dentistry and Medicine and post graduate qualifications in Oral surgery and ENT. His ENT and Head and Neck training was in London including the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital. He received his specialist cancer surgery training from various units in London, India and Holland. He has published articles in a number of international journals and presented at many national and international meetings, and also teaches on a number of national training courses.

Clinical interests

Providing a comprehensive service for all ear, nose and throat disorders, Mr Kothari offers complete investigations and treatment for snoring and sleep apnoea.

He has a special interest in benign and malignant disorders of the head and neck including the thyroid gland and salivary glands.

Mr Kothari offers a truly multi-disciplinary treatment for all head and neck cancers. Working closely with Radiotherapists, Oncologists and the McMillan team to discuss all patients, before commencing treatment.

He is interested in treating swallowing disorders and works closely with speech and language therapists to investigate and treat these problems.

Publications and research

Mr Kothari has more than 20 publications in international journals and has presented at a number of national and international ENT and Head and Neck Oncology meetings.

He is actively involved in research and continually audits his results in the NHS and private practice.

Current research is in the Head and Neck Follow-up regimen for post treatment cancer patients.

Mr Kothari is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
