A nasal specialist with expertise in nasal and sinus disease, sleeping disorders and nasal structural problems.
Mr. Joe Marais, is a Consultant Rhinologist (nasal specialist), Nasal Plastic and ENT Surgeon based in North West London. He has a particular interest and expertise in nasal and sinus disease, nasal structural problems and snoring disorders.
Having graduated in 1985 from Johannesburg, South Africa, Joe Marais trained as a junior doctor at the
Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London and as a Registrar and Senior Registrar in Edinburgh.
He has undertaken two subspecialty training fellowships in Texas, USA (Rhinoplasty) and Toronto, Canada (Neuro-otology and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) where he trained under some of North America's leading surgeons.
He set up and developed a Sleep Laboratory in Edinburgh in 1993 and has been involved with Sleep and Snoring management since then. He is now co-director of
Snore-Tech, a private multi-disciplinary sleep apnoea and snoring clinic in Harrow, Middlesex.
Joe Marais lectures on several academic courses within the UK and internationally each year and has had 25 peer-reviewed papers published. He has a busy private practice which includes among his patients many medical, nursing and paramedical colleagues. A large number of his referalls are patients referred to him by other ENT specialist colleagues.
