Fiona MacGregor: Consultant ENT Surgeon, Glasgow

Fiona MacGregor is a Consultant ENT Surgeon based in Glasgow who treats all general ear nose and throat disorders with a particular interest in paediatric ENT conditions, throat and voice disorders, neck lumps and head and neck cancer.

Fiona MacGregor graduated from Edinburgh medical school in 1986 and undertook her initial surgical training in Edinburgh and Glasgow. She subsequently trained in otolaryngology at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. She also worked at the Middlesex and Hammersmith Hospitals before returning to Glasgow and taking up a consultant post at Gartnavel General Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children Yorkhill in 1997.

She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Glasgow University and an Intercollegiate Examiner for the Intercollegiate Specialty Board in Otorhinolaryngology. She is currently Chairman of the Scottish Otolaryngological Society. She is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine, ENT-UK and The British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngologists. 

She has published and lectured widely on her particular interests of paediatric ENT, voice disorders and head and neck cancer. She reviews papers for a number of journals including The International Journal of Paediatric Otolaryngology.

She teaches on a number of national courses and is on the faculty of The British Academic Conference in Otolaryngology and the British Paediatric Otolaryngology Course, amongst others.

Fiona MacGregor's main interests include general paediatric ear nose and throat disorders such as tonsillitis, glue ear, enlarged adenoids, nasal obstruction, snoring and deafness. She also has an interest in throat and voice problems and head and neck lumps including cancers in both adults and children. She is interested in the professional singing voice and runs a specialist voice clinic.
