Dr Laurence Lever (MBBS,FRCP) has been Consultant Dermatologist at Northwick Park Hospital since1994 and is the skin cancer lead for the North West Hospitals NHS Trust and Programme Leader for the postgraduate certificate in Dermatology at Middlesex University.
He looks after patients with general dermatological conditions with a special interest in the management of malignant and pre-malignant conditions of the skin.
Dermatology at the the One Stop Day Surgery Centre
Dr Lever's private dermatology practice is based at the ‘One Stop’ Day Surgery Centre in Harley Street. The Centre was established in 1991 to provide rapid access to investigations for the general surgical practice of Mr O J A Gilmore. Since this time additional consultants have joined the team and extended the range of services available to services such as dermatology, the diagnosis and treatment of skin problems.
The centre now offers a friendly, personal yet efficient, modern service within a welcoming and re-assuring environment.
The 108 Day Surgery Centre provides ‘ONE STOP’ treatment including consultation and operation in a comfortable and friendly setting.
The facilities for Day Surgery at 108 Harley Street have been designed to offer same day consultations and minor operations under local anaesthetic comparable with those offered by private hospitals, thereby enabling the patient to avoid formal admission. The emphasis on patient care whilst keeping administration to a minimum also ensures that charges are lower than larger facilities.
Highly trained theatre personnel and experienced nurses staff the Day Surgery Centre. The Consultants using the facility are experts in their particular fields and insist on only the best for their patients.
Your first visit
On your first visit to the dermatology clinic, you will be greeted by a receptionist, who will collect any referral letters, x-rays, test results or other information you have brought with you. These will be passed to Dr Lever. It is helpful if you can arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so that the consultant has time to review the information prior to your consultation and any outstanding personal information can be obtained.
You can then take a seat in the waiting room, where a medical secretary may see you if any personal information is still required. A nurse will then take you to meet the Dr Lever. A spouse, partner, relative or friend can accompany you, or the nurse can stay with you during your consultation and examination.
