Mr Joe Marais is a Consultant Rhinologist (nasal specialist), Nasal Plastic and ENT Surgeon based in North West London. He has a particular interest and expertise in Septorhinoplasty, nasal and sinus disease, nasal structural problems and snoring disorders.
Having graduated in 1985 from Johannesburg, South Africa, Joe Marais trained as a junior doctor at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London and as a Registrar and Senior Registrar in Edinburgh.
He has undertaken two subspecialty training fellowships in Texas, USA (Rhinoplasty) and Toronto, Canada (Neuro-otology and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) where he trained under some of North America's leading surgeons.
An NHS Consultant based at Northwick Park Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital, he consults privately at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, Bishops Wood Hospital (Northwood) and at the Hillingdon Hospital Private Consultancy Rooms (Uxbridge).
Joe Marais lectures on a number of academic Rhinoplasty courses within the UK and internationally each year and has had 25 peer-reviewed papers published. He carries out an average of 100-120 Rhinoplasties each year, many of which are complex cases referred to him by other surgeons. He is registered with the British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, (BAPRAS).
