Neville Kukreja

Dr Neville Kukreja is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust. He is a recognised international expert in Interventional Cardiology (angioplasty and stenting) who has been an invited speaker at prestigious meetings throughout Europe and the USA. He has also been an invited lecturer at the Royal College of Physicians.

 

Dr. Kukreja undertook undergraduate studies in Cambridge and London before completing his general medical and cardiology training in London. He underwent training in Interventional Cardiology at St Mary’s Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and also at the world-famous Thoraxcenter in Rotterdam.

 

Dr. Kukreja currently contributes towards the general and interventional cardiology service in East & North Hertfordshire, including the provision of daytime primary percutaneous coronary intervention for local patients suffering a heart attack. He also participates in the on call rota at the Harefield Heart Attack Centre, one of the busiest units in the country providing 24hr emergency treatment for patients from Northwest London, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

General adult cardiology with particular expertise in all aspects of percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty and stent) and multi-slice CT angiography.

 

Research

Dr. Kukreja's main research interests are the evaluation of new and existing drug-eluting stents and invasive coronary imaging (intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography).

 

He has co-authored more than 40 original research articles, 10 review articles and 5 book chapters. He has also been a co-author of more than 45 scientific abstracts which he has presented at major national and international cardiology scientific meetings.
