Doctors who specialise in treating heart disorders are called cardiologists.
Cardiologists do not perform cardiac surgery and should not be confused with cardiac surgeons who performs operative procedures on the heart and blood vessels.

The organisation focused on education, setting of clinical standards and research into heart and circulatory diseases within the United Kingdom is the British Cardiovascular Society.
