Dr Adrian Winbow MB, BS, FRCPsych, DPM a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in both the NHS and private sector, qualified at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1969. He became a Consultant in the National Health Service in 1978 and has worked purely in private practice since 1986, both as Medical Director in a Priory Hospital and also a Cygnet Hospital. He is at present the head of a company called Private Psychiatry (Dr Adrian Winbow and Associates LLP) and has a particular interest in management structures and organisational stress.
He has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the South-East initially in the National Health Service and since 1980 has worked as a private consultant psychiatrist in private medical/surgical hospitals and clinics throughout the south east of England.
He is now the Deputy Medical Director at Cygnet Hospital Godden Green, which is his main base. Furthermore, he is a Member of the Association of European Psychiatrists (AEP), the Independent Doctors Forum (IDF) and the Federation of Independent Practitioner Organisation (FIPO).
He also has admitting privileges at Capio Nightingale Hospital in London and Cygnet Hospital Harrow as well.
He has a special interest in General Psychiatry (adult, adolescent and child), Affective Disorders (such as depressive illness), Eating Disorders, Alcohol and Substance Misuse, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME). Anxiety Disorders (phobia), Post Traumatic Stress Disorders and Psychotic Illnesses such as Schizophrenia as well as Personality Disorders.
