Senior Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director

Dr Adrian Winbow is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in both NHS and private sector.  He qualified at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1969.  He became a Consultant in the NHS in 1978 and has worked purely in private practice since 1986 – both as a Medical Director in a Priory Hospital and Cygnet Hospital.  He is at present the Company and Medical Director of Private Psychiatry LLP and has a particular interest in management structures, organisational stress and individual tailor-made treatment and care.

 

Dr Winbow started Private Psychiatry LLP in April 2008.  The practice includes other consultant psychiatrists, therapists with various therapeutic approaches, psychiatric nurse consultant, practice manager and practice administrators.  Private Psychiatry LLP was set up to provide consultant led one-stop service to provide comprehensive psychiatric and psychological assessments, diagnosis and treatments as well as occupational health services, medico-legal work and lectures / work shops.  Private Psychiatry LLP practices in London, Kent, Surrey, Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.  

Dr Winbow has a special interest in General Psychiatry (adult), Affective Disorders (such as depressive illness and bipolar disorder), Eating Disorders, Alcohol and Substance Misuse, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME), Anxiety Disorders (including phobias), Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD), Personality Disorders, and Psychotic illnesses such as Schizophrenia.

 

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic psychotherapy, Counselling, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Hypnotherapy, and Psychotropic drug management.
