Mr Neil Browning

Mr Browning is a consultant vascular surgeon of 15 years standing. After doing his basic medical and general surgery training in South Africa, he trained in vascular surgery in Manchester (UK), Seattle and Houston (USA). He is a founder member of the Surrey Vascular Group and is clinical director of the Aortic Anuerysm Scrreening Program for Surrey. He started the Vein and Artery Clinics in the private sector with the aim of introducing minimally invasive techniques to treat patients with vascular problems in the private clinics where he practices.

Mr Browning’s main interests are in minimally invasive vascular surgery. This includes techniques like radiofrequency ablation (VNUS) and endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) for varicose veins; endovascular stenting to treat thoracic and abdominal aneurysms (EVAR); carotid surgery and stenting to prevent strokes, angioplasty and bypass surgery for block arteries in the legs, and keyhole surgery and Botox injections for excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis). Mr Browning also has an interest in hernia surgery.

Mr Browning has introduced and refined laser treatment and VNUS closure for varicose veins under local anaesthetic in his local NHS hospital, making this a walk-in/walk-out service. This service has also been established in the private sector. He also uses a new technique of hernia repair.
