Mr Sunil Jain is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Knee Surgeon in Kent. He specialises in knee arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, cartilage surgery and computer guided/ patient specific knee replacements as well as hip replacement and arthroscopy.

Mr Jain offers private orthopaedic treatment at Spire Alexandra Hospital, Walderslade. He also works at Medway Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Kent, as a senior knee surgeon. The patients are referred from Rochester, Chatham, Walderslade, Gillingham, Rainham, Sittingbourne, Swale, Gravesend, Maidstone, Faversham and other areas like London.

Mr Jain popularised the Computer Guided Knee Replacement surgery, which provided a highly accurate placement of components. This technique requires special training which he received in Germany and other centres. He was the first surgeon to carry out the unique TruMatch technique at the Alexandra Hospital, offering personalized knee replacement technology. He also specializes in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery of the knee joint for ligament (e.g. ACL) reconstruction, cartilage and meniscus surgery, meniscal replacement, osteotomies, various types of hip and knee replacements and sports injuries of the lower limb. He believes in early mobilization and rehabilitation for patients after surgery, to restore function with minimal pain. He has continued to publish and present his research at national and international levels, and holds a Clinical Excellence Award. He is involved in teaching at Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels. He is an examiner for MSc Orthopaedic trainees. Mr. Jain is also the lead for enhanced recovery and enhancing quality in orthopaedics for the South East region, working with the Department of Health.

Mr Jain has over 25 years' experience in the field, which he continues to update with the latest developments and innovations. His approach remains patient centered, with emphasis on 'evidence based practice' rather than ‘experimental surgery’. He is well respected for his professional thoroughness and surgical skills.

After post-graduate qualifications in India, Mr Jain trained in the Mersey region orthopaedic rotation, where he obtained his MCh in trauma and orthopaedics at the University of Liverpool. His interest in Research methodology resulted in a PostGraduate Certificate in Healthcare Research at the University of Exeter. He completed his training with FRCS and FRCS Tr. & Orth. qualifications. He then gained further experience in Zurich, Nottingham and Exeter through fellowship appointments and he has been awarded MFSEM, by the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine of the combined Royal Colleges.
