Dr Andrew Cowley

Dr Andrew Cowley is a General Paediatric Consultant in Shropshire with a private practice at the Nuffield Health Hospital in Shrewsbury. He treats all general paediatric problems, including respiratory, gastroenterology, allergy, neurology and cardiology complaints. His specialist interests are in paediatric oncology (leukaemia) and haematology (haemophilia).

Dr Cowley's paediatric training and experience

General Paediatric Consultant Andrew Cowley became a member of the Royal College of Paediatricians in 2001 and then joined the West Midlands Training programme and completed his core paediatric training in Shrewsbury, followed by general paediatric and oncology placements at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. 

Since 2007 Dr Cowley has been a General Paediatric Consultant at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and has been a private paediatrician at the Nuffield Health Hospital in Shrewsbury for the last year.

Dr Cowley also specialises in paediatric oncology – looking after children with leukaemia and cancer with particular expertise in ruling out malignancy.

He also manages other general aspects of haematatology such as anaemia, recurrent infections and unexplained or easy bruising.

• Private Paediatrics provides weekly outpatient clinics at Nuffield Health Hospital in Shrewsbury for children aged between 3 and 18 years 
  
• Children aged 0-3 years can be seen privately at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on an individual basis
