Dr Sally Cubbin MBChB MRCPsych MSc DipCBT is a highly qualified, experienced, sensitive, and caring Consultant Psychiatrist with special expertise in the diagnosis and management of Adult ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). She is trained in both general adult psychiatry and old age psychiatry and is happy to assess and treat patients from 16 to end of life for all psychiatric disorders.

 

Dr Cubbin's interest and expertise in psychotherapy compliments the medical management of her patients and puts her in the position of being able to offer both a medical and psychological assessment and approach to treatment simultaneously.

 

She holds a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Oxford University and uses these skills for the treatment of mental illness using a psychological approach to compliment her medical skills.

Dr Cubbin has particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (Adult ADHD). She works part time as a Consultant Psychiatrist at The Maudsley Hospital Adult ADHD National Referral Service in London where she assesses and manages patients with this disorder. In 2009/2010 she also held a permanent, substantive part time NHS post working as Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist in Hampshire. She also works part time as a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist specialising in brain injury at St Andrew’s Hospital in Northampton. She has a private practice in general psychiatry and Adult ADHD with clinics in Oxford, Windsor and Southampton.

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Bristol, UK (1993)
• Masters Degree (MSc) in Psychological Medicine (University of Wales, Cardiff, 2000).
• Completed higher training in psychiatry in the Oxford Deanery and also The Maudsley Hospital, London.
• Member by examination of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (2000)
• Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) for her training in the UK
• Registered on the GMC Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry and the Psychiatry of Older Adults.
• Approved as having expertise in the assessment and treatment of mental disorders by the Secretary of State under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (1983).

Dr Cubbin performs between 50 and 100 Adult ADHD assessments a year and prescribes medication, if needed for this, personally following-up many of these patients. She also assesses over 50 people a year for general psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety and provides regular follow up as required.
