Chest X-ray
Chest X-rays are useful in detecting an enlarged heart; but especially in diagnosing
lung conditions - such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema, lung tumours, lung
infections and fluid in the lung, collapsed lung, etc.
Blood glucose levels should be measured as a matter of course in all patients
over 75.
Underlying Diseases/Conditions
A chest X-ray should be performed in those patients with heart disease, lung
disease or a malignancy.
Current Drugs Use
Those patients on radiation therapy or who smoke should have a chest X-ray
performed.
