Harefield Hospital is situated in Harefield, Middlesex and is easily accessible from the M40 and M25. The nearest underground stations are Rickmansworth and Uxbridge. Both are about a 20 minute taxi ride from the hospital.

The specialist lung and heart hospital has more than 1,600 staff, five operating theatres and four catheter laboratories. It has 295 beds, including 48 for surgery, 93 for respiratory patients, 48 for cardiology, 34 paediatric, 20 for intensive care and 12 for paediatric intensive care.

Lung conditons

The Royal Brompton Hospital is home to Europe's largest centre for the treatment and management of cystic fibrosis. The Royal Brompton Hospital's lung specialists see both UK and international patients suffering from asthma and chronic lung conditions including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) from across the country.

The Royal Brompton Hospital's adult congenital heart disease unit was the first of its kind in Europe and remains the largest.
