Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust is one of London’s busiest and most prestigious acute Trusts and includes the world renowned centres of Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. All three hospitals are situated in West London within easy reach of major transport links.
Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust prides itself on its reputation for clinical and academic excellence. Imperial College London has a campus on both main sites and maintains close links with all clinical specialties. The Medical Research Council (MRC) is also based at Hammersmith Hospital, providing a strong foundation for clinical and scientific research.
Private Healthcare - ‘The best of both worlds’
Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust provides the security of being cared for in a large teaching hospital coupled with the comfortable environment of private healthcare and the convenience of choosing your consultant and the timing of your treatment.
Private healthcare facilities are provided in dedicated units within each of the three hospitals:
-
The Robert & Lisa Sainsbury Wing at Hammersmith Hospital
-
The Fifteenth Floor at Charing Cross Hospital
-
Sir Stanley Clayton Ward at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital
All rooms have been designed to provide comfort and privacy and have good facilities, satellite television and a bedside telephone. All meals are freshly prepared in a dedicated kitchen and a wide variety of dietary options are available at every meal.
Clinical expertise
The hospitals within the Trust are at the leading edge of healthcare and this allows the widest possible choice of treatment to be offered. Many of the Consultants are internationally recognised in a wide range of different clinical specialties, and the expertise of the medical and nursing staff means that patients receive the best possible care, 24 hours a day.
The three hospitals provide expertise in all clinical specialities (both medical and surgical), apart from paediatrics. Inpatient, day case and outpatient facilities are all available for private patients.
With the advent of new technology and new ways of working, many procedures can now be carried out in a day, meaning that patients often don’t need to stay overnight and can return to their families as quickly as possible.
Competitive costs
Costs for private healthcare at the Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust are competitive when compared to both wholly private hospitals and other private units within the NHS and the breadth of services offered is truly first class. The Trust deals with most of the major UK health insurance companies.
The funds generated by private patient services are reinvested in the NHS to support and enhance clinical services within the hospitals, for the benefit of all patients.
