The Wellington Hospital in London is the largest independent hospital in the United Kingdom. It has an international reputation for outstanding care in areas of medicine including acute neurological rehabilitation, neurosciences, intensive care, imaging & diagnostics, cardiac services, cancer care, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, liver and HPB medicine, gynaecology and urology.

Acute neurological rehabilitation
The Wellington Acute Neurological Rehabilitation Unit has an international reputation for the excellence of its work. It has recently been awarded 3 years accreditation by CARF, an internationally recognised independent body that evaluates standards in rehabilitation around the world.

The focus of the unit is to provide a team approach to the rehabilitation of people who have challenging neurological conditions.

The unit is recognised as the independent sector’s premier centre for the care of patients with neurological conditions including head injuries, spinal cord injuries and strokes, providing comprehensive patient-centred rehabilitation.

The Hospital's extensive neuroscience facilities and expertise make the Wellington Hospital the independent sector’s leading centre for patients with neurological conditions including head injuries, spinal cord injuries, brain tumours and stroke.

Intensive care
The Wellington Hospital is the biggest provider of critical care in the private sector, providing a high standard of intensive care around the clock. The hospital has 50 critical care beds including two Intensive Care Units with a total of 28 beds dedicated to Level 3 intensive care.

A team of consultants who specialise in intensive care, many of whom have senior posts in London’s renowned teaching hospitals, lead the unit supported by specialist nurses who can provide constant one-to-one care for patients

Imaging & diagnostics
The Wellingon's Diagnostics and Imaging services provide a full range of state-of-the-art equipment including a 64-slice CT scanner, four MRI scanners, and a full range of X-ray machines using a Computed Radiography (CR) system, Ultrasound equipment and Interventional Radiology facilities. These services are offered throughout The Wellington Hospital, with outpatient services based at The Wellington Diagnostics and Outpatients Centre (Golders Green) and at the newly opened Platinum Medical Centre. The diagnostics and imaging services for inpatients are available in the South & North building.

The Wellington is constantly working to improve and expand their facilities so that they can deliver outstanding imaging services which help to greatly speed up the time from diagnosis to treatment.

Cardiac services
The Cardiac Services Unit at The Wellington Hospital has 3 dedicated operating theatres, 3 cardiac catheterisation laboratories and intensive care facilities to help give patients the best cardiac care possible.

With the expertise of some of the most senior cardiac doctors in the country, the unit is known for treating the most complex conditions ranging from coronary artery disease, heart valve repair and replacement, to treating atrial fibrillation (a heart arrhythmia) via radio frequency ablation and using innovative technology to treat severe angina.

The hospital is the first private hospital in the country to use the new Da Vinci SI surgical robot to reconstruct heart valves and carry out other complex procedures enabling patients to recover much faster than was previously possible.

Cancer care
The hospital's new state-of-the-art Platinum Medical Centre allows The Wellington Hospital to bring cancer care, diagnosis and treatment together in a defined approach. The hospital has a large team of experienced cancer consultants who are at the top of their profession. The hospital has particular expertise in a range of cancers. These include lung, gynaecological, prostate, brain & CNS, colorectal & gastrointestinal and breast cancers.

The Wellington Hospital has one of the largest fully-integrated Gastro-Intestinal (GI) units in the independent sector and is able to treat the whole range of GI and biliary conditions. The team of senior consultants, many of them at the peak of their profession, include distinguished surgeons, physicians, radiologists, pathologists and oncologists.

The Wellington Hospital offers the whole range of orthopaedic services, from outpatient assessments to the most complex procedures.

Liver and HPB medicine
The Wellington Hospital’s Liver Unit has one of the most distinguished multidisciplinary teams in Europe, providing the best possible treatment for all conditions that affect the liver, pancreas and biliary tree including liver transplants and cancer.

The Wellington's Consultant Gynaecologists and Physicians will advise you on any aspect of women's health from fertility issues, contraception, gynaecological problems or difficulties associated with the menopause.

Central to The Wellington Hospital's approach to women's health is a breadth of specialist expertise and support services for the range of disorders, major and minor, affecting the female reproductive system.

Specialist medical care for patients with conditions affecting the bladder and prostate. Many of the hospital's urologists are involved in ground breaking research and bring to the Wellington Urology Unit the very latest proven techniques to treat both common and complex conditions alike.

The Wellington Urology Unit is also able to offer a range of procedures using keyhole surgery, where is less pain, reduced blood loss and the hospital stay and period of convalescence is normally shorter.
