Rivers Hospital - Ramsay Health Care UK

Rivers Hospital - Ramsay Health Care UK
The Rivers Hospital is one of the leading private hospitals in the UK and being just off the M11, it is easily accessible from London and the Home Counties. The hospital is located in Sawbridgeworth on the Essex, Hertfordshire border in beautiful countryside. A sweeping drive through landscape grounds leads you to ample free car parking and our award winning team focused on providing individual care to meet your needs.

The hospital opened in 1992 and is equipped with the latest medical facilities for diagnosis and treatment, and has very high quality clinical standards including effective infection prevention measures.

All patient rooms are en suite and our Premium Care patients benefit from extras such as A la carte menus and Sky TV.

By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The four fully equipped theatres with ultra clean air technology are particularly suitable for orthopedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacement. A brand new day surgery suite is suitable for minor surgery and endoscopy procedures.

Services are Consultant led and flexible appointment times are offered, including out of hours. A rigorous vetting procedure ensures that only suitably qualified and experienced surgeons are granted practicing privileges.

The hospital is strictly regulated and audited by the Care Quality Commission, the government body responsible for maintaining standards.

In 2009, the hospital was named as one of the top healthcare employers in the UK. The hospital was honoured in the Healthcare 100, organised by national magazines Nursing Times and Health Service Journal. The Rivers was awarded 4th place in the poll, which is judged by the views of employers and their staff, and analysed by leading research firm Ipsos MORI. The poll was open to all healthcare providers nationwide, including the whole of the NHS and independent healthcare providers.

The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, one of the sponsors of the awards, said: ‘A good employer and good people management means better safety and quality of care’ for patients.

The Rivers also won the Customer Care award in the Harlow and District Business Awards in 2010.
