The three fully equipped theatres with a seven-bedded recovery area are particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacement. A dedicated day surgery suite is suitable for minor surgery and endoscopy.

Physiotherapy services

Berkshire Independent Hospital ensures that every patient receives the highest quality of care delivered by a team of dedicated and friendly staff. The physiotherapy department tailors a specific treatment plan for you which will detail the number of sessions and treatments you require to help you to recover. They are driven to provide patients with the most up-to-date treatments and techniques, including providing treatment for back and neck problems, sports injuries, women's health, neurological conditions, elderly rehabilitation, hand injuries, shoulder problems, joint problems and arthritic conditions.

Excellent facilities

Direct dial telephone, Sky TV and radio are available in all rooms for you and your visitor's comfort. Meals are served in your room and comprise a superb selection of dishes, all freshly prepared. Free car parking and disabled access is also available.

The outpatient department adjacent to the hospital has 19 consulting rooms with associated examination and treatment facilities, and a minor operating theatre.

Other outpatient facilities include a large physiotherapy department with a well equipped, modern gymnasium, audiology, x-ray, ultrasound, MRI scanning and a pathology Laboratory.

The hospital has a two-bedded high dependency unit for patients requiring specialist nursing.

Self paying patients

For self-funded patients, you will be required to pay the full cost of your procedure before coming into hospital. This can be paid for by credit or debit card, excluding American Express. If you wish to pay by personal cheque, you must ensure to submit your cheque 14 days in advance.

What's Included?

To ensure you receive the best care possible, Berkshire Independent Hospital offers their patients Premium Care. Premium Care provides patients with additional benefits, including a choice of consultant, choice of appointment, an individual pre-operative assessment and physiotherapy, which all helps to differentiate them from other large hospitals. Premium Care is available to most privately insured patients.

Insured patients

Patients with medical insurance are required to have pre-authorisation from your health insurer before you arrive at the hospital, to ensure that your treatment costs will be covered.
