Why do I need travel vaccinations?

The UK childhood vaccination programme protects against diseases such as measles, mumps, diphtheria and tetanus, however it does not cover infectious diseases that are found in other countries.  People travelling abroad, particularly outside of Europe, should always seek advice on the latest disease situation in the country that they are travelling to and arrange for vaccinations in good time, bearing in mind that some, rabies for example, require a course of injections.

The travel nurses and doctors at BMI healthcare are highly experienced in selecting the right vaccinations for a particular destination and provide a record of vaccination and any certificates that may be necessary in order to enter a country.  They are also able to offer advice on boosters, including tetanus.

Personalised travel health advice at BMI Healthcare

As well as offering travel vaccinations, BMI travel health clinics provide personalised advice on topics such as malaria prophylaxis, which malaria drugs are suitable for which country, avoiding food and water borne illness and sun safety.  They pride themselves on being able to answer any health queries that travellers may have.
