Anne Stafford graduated from
King’s College London with a Diploma of Higher Education in Midwifery and a Bachelor of Science degree in Midwifery.
HypnoBirthing®
Anne qualified as a HypnoBirthing® practitioner early in 2007. HypnoBirthing® uses hypnosis to put the woman in control of her labour. Women using this method usually experience a shorter, more comfortable labour. She offers this service to any pregnant woman, not just her own midwifery clients.
Reflexology
Anne qualified as a Reflexologist in 2006. Reflexology uses the principles of zone therapy and pressure points. It holds that the organs and structures of the body are mapped onto the soles of the feet and some conditions can be diagnosed, alleviated or treated by working the zones and pressure points. Reflexology can also be wonderfully relaxing.
Booking an independent midwife
She would strongly advise a pregnant woman considering employing an Independent Midwife to book one as early as possible in the pregnancy. This gives the best chance to benefit from the unique care she offers.
As she work outside the NHS she can offer one-to-one care throughout your pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. All antenatal visits take place in your home.
When labour starts Anne will come to your home where the decision will be yours to stay for the birth or go in to hospital.
Anne always works with a back up midwife who you would meet a few times before your baby is born.
Although Anne enjoys being present at home births, the choice is always yours about where to give birth.
Included in her service are up to ten postnatal visits - usually daily for the first five days at home and then tailing off, with the last visit around week four of your baby’s life.
