Affordable, Accessible & Assured MRI Scans from £250

The state-of-the-art 1.5T Toshiba MRI scanner at Vista Diagnostics is up to 90% quieter than other scanners, and is also wider and shorter, resulting in a more comfortable experience for everyone, especially the larger patient and those suffering from claustrophobia. This, combined with the high field strength, provides images of a high diagnostic quality.

MRI scans are carried out by experienced radiographers using market-leading equipment. Vista ensures that patients receive their MRI scan in a matter of days – there’s even the possibility for a same-day appointment. Once the scan is taken, Vista’s specialist NHS-affiliated radiologists produce the diagnostic report within 24 hours. The report is produced by a radiologist with the relevant sub-speciality expertise, such as neuro or musculoskeletal.

Vista operates a comprehensive system of clinical governance consistent with NHS standards and offering GPs access to a diagnostic report within 24 hours of a scan reduces unnecessary consultations and speeds up the treatment process, thus reducing the overall costs of patient care. This efficient and cost-effective service reduces pressure on the NHS and provides patients with a speedy diagnosis, meaning that treatment and/or preventative measures can be swiftly implemented.

Vista’s experienced team includes:
  • NHS-affiliated Radiologists with relevant sub-specialty experience
  • Radiographers able to maximise scan quality and patient comfort
  • Eminent Medical Advisers in Radiology, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Surgery and Clinical Governance
Vista is able to offer patients both:
  • Accessibility – an increased choice of appointments by opening 13 hours a day, 7 days a week, 51 weeks a year
  • Affordability – by spreading their costs across a greater number of appointments, they provide a lower cost per scan than others.

GPs - How to refer patients for MRI scans

As a result of NHS reforms, GPs can now refer patients directly for treatments such as an MRI scan. In accordance with MHDA guidelines, to ensure patient safety Vista only accepts referrals from recognised clinicians. The referral form is designed to obtain the appropriate clinical information and region to be scanned, as well as relevant patient and referring clinician contact information.

To ensure it is appropriate for a patient to undergo an MRI scan a completed Referral Form is required from a referring clinician such as a Consultant, GP, Physiotherapist, Osteopath, and Chiropractitioner. If a patient is not currently under the care of a referring clinician they should contact Vista so that an Independent Medical Assessment of the appropriateness of an MRI scan can be arranged.

You can either:
  • Print a copy, complete all sections and post it to them
  • Or, if you prefer, fax it to them at 0845 450 2171.
Please include as much information as possible regarding the patient’s condition and clearly state the patient’s contact details so that an appointment can be arranged at a convenient time for you and the patient. If you wish a copy of the diagnostic report to be sent to another recipient, such as a consultant, please provide their details.

Clarifying reports

Vista can schedule a telephone discussion for GPs who wish to speak to the Vista reporting radiologist regarding a diagnosis.
