This approach to tooth whitening and bleaching using tooth whitening gel involves the dentist taking a mould of your teeth.
Trays are then made which are used to hold the tooth whitening gel. The dentist will explain to you how to apply the gel to the tray.
You use the trays at home. Some tooth whitening treatments can be used while you are asleep, for up to eight hours at a time. Other tooth whitening products need to be applied regularly for 30 minutes to one hour at a time.
You may have to use the tooth whitening gel trays for two to four weeks, or more, if your teeth are significantly stained. You may need two or three visits to the dentist during this period.
Most types of tooth staining can be whitened by the use of tooth whitening gel. The effects of this tooth whitening product can last for two to three years depending on what you eat, drink and smoke over that period.
