Dr Alastair Smith
BDS (Bris), MSc, MFDS RCS (Eng), MOrth RCS (Edin) Specialist in Orthodontics. GDC No. 77692
Alastair studied dentistry at Bristol University. He then spent several years gaining a broad post graduate education working both in general practice and the hospital service. The hospital posts included paediatric dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. It was during this time he passed the membership in dental surgery examination awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Alastair undertook his post graduate orthodontic training at Guys Hospital where he was awarded a degree of Master of Science in Orthodontics and Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Alastair is committed to post graduate training and regularly attends courses and national conferences at which he has contributed. He has a particular interest in self-ligating braces and lingual appliances.
Dr Rachel McLellan
GDC No. 76591
Originally from New Zealand, Rachel qualified as a dentist from Otago University, Dunedin. She worked in Auckland for a brief time after which she travelled to England spending five years practising in general dentistry. She then returned to the southern hemisphere to complete her orthodontic specialty training at the University of Melbourne before again returning to England some years ago.
Rachel has detailed knowledge and experience in all aspects of contemporary orthodontics. She is one of the leading clinicians currently using the Incognito™ lingual bracket system in England.
Rachel has experience with the highly efficient Damon™ braces and Invisalign® system. She has a special interest in adult orthodontics having collaborated with colleagues to treat multi-disciplinary cases and particularly surgical orthodontic patients.
