Practice Principle: Dr Andrew Moore BDS(Lond) Reg no 64016

Since qualification in 1988, Dr Moore expanded his clinical experience by taking the post of Honorary Clinical Assistant in Oral Surgery at Basildon Hospital. He then completed a 2 year postgraduate course in Orthodontics at Southend Hospital.
 
Dr Moore has a particular interest in Implantology, which he has pursued with a commitment to postgraduate qualifications in this field, including a 1 year course in Implantology at The Centre for Reconstructive Surgery, Harley Street, London. He has recently been awarded The Diploma in Implant Dentistry by the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners at The Royal College of Surgeons and was one of the first UK dentists to achieve this award.  Dr Moore has over 10 years of experience in placing dental implants and takes referrals from other dentists in the area.  He now teaches Implant Dentistry to other dentists at the clinic and at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Practice Associate: Dr James Neale BDS(Lond) Reg no 79787

Dr Neale qualified from Guy's Hospital, London in 2001 with a distinction in human health and disease.  He has a special interest in Restorative Dentistry including Cerec dentistry.

Practice Associate: Dr Viola Vajda BDS Reg no. 83958

Dr Vajda qualified from the University of Budapest and has worked extensively in general private practice.  She speaks fluent English and German and has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics. She has extensive experience in using the Invisalign orthodontic system and using Cerec for oral reconstructions.

Periodontist: Roberta Lambertenghi Deliliers, Qualified 1999 from Milan University

Roberta has recently completed her masters degree in periodontology at Eastman Dental Hospital in London under Prof. M. Tonetti and also spends time teaching at the same institute. Roberta treats all aspects of gum disease at Advance Dental Clinic and is experienced in the use of advanced bone regeneration techniques.

Advance Dental are able to offer a wide range of cosmetic treatments using the latest in dental technology including:

• Tooth whitening
  Teeth can be restored to their natural colour by tooth whitening. This can be achieved at home using a mild bleaching gel placed in small trays that are worn at night or power whitening in a 1 hour session in the dental chair.

• White fillings
  There are now many techniques available to restore broken or decayed teeth using a tooth-coloured filling material. Advance Dental Clinic use both composite and porcelain restorations that are matched to your own natural tooth colour.  They are bonded into your tooth by a special adhesive, adding to the retention of the filling and sealing the tooth.

• Veneers
  A veneer is a very fine porcelain facing which is bonded onto your natural tooth. The primary function is to improve the appearance of your teeth and the procedure often involves very little preparation of your own natural teeth. Veneers can be used in cases where the teeth are chipped, discoloured or crowded. They are most frequently used on your upper or lower front teeth.

• Crowns
  A crown is a covering placed over the top of your own natural tooth to restore both the function and aesthetics. Crowns will greatly enhance the appearance of heavily filled, chipped, discoloured or misshapen teeth. In some cases they can be used to correct a malalignment of teeth where braces are not an option.

• Bridges
  A bridge is used as a permanent replacement for one or more missing teeth. They are both aesthetic and functional, restoring your natural bite, preventing unwanted movement of the adjacent teeth and over eruption of the tooth opposite the gap. In simple terms they can be viewed as crowns joined together and cemented on the supporting teeth, with a fixed false tooth in between to "bridge the gap". They are a very desirable alternative to a removable partial denture.

• Dental implants
  A dental implant is a device gently placed into your jaw to act as an anchor for a single crown or bridge, or to hold in a denture. The implant provides an independent tooth that provides stimulus to the bone. The data we have on implants shows this to be a very predictable form of treatment.

Accident and emergency cover

Advance Dental Clinic's opening hours should cover most times that you need to see a dentist in an emergency situation. However if you require urgent treatment or advice out of hours simply call the main practice number to obtain an emergency telephone number for the dentist on call. Please note that if the surgery needs to be opened out of hours a charge will be made. The practice is open most Saturdays, please call for availalbility.

Appointment scheduling

Advance Dental understand that you have a busy schedule and recognise the need to provide an efficient service. They will make every effort to see you at your scheduled appointment time.

There is no charge for changing your appointment provided you give at least 24 hours notice.

Advance Dental do charge for missed appointments or late cancellations, as this allows them to run efficiently and keep their fees at a reasonable level for you.
