As there isn’t a medical university in Cyprus, dentists and cosmetic surgeons are trained at international schools, usually in the UK or US, and are accredited by international organisations.
To qualify as a dentist in Cyprus, students complete a further three years of postgraduate study after completing their six year Diploma or Degree in Dentistry and specialise in their chosen field, such as a Paediatric Dentist, Orthodontic Dentist or a Periodontist. The main dental organisations are the Cyprus Dental Council (Tel. 00 357 22 316812), the Cyprus Dental Association (Tel. 00 357 22 316812), the Cyprus Periodontal Society, and the Cyprus Orthodontic Society.
