After much consideration Mr Patrick Smith decided to have his missing teeth replaced with implants. He contacted the Dentist Abroad organisation in London for a quotation for treatment at their Hungary clinic. His Panorama X-Ray digital photos were forwarded to Dr Bela Batorfi (who specialises in cosmetic dentistry, implantology and sinus maxillary) at the clinic in Budapest and after receiving a competitive quote and treatment plan Mr Smith travelled to Budapest in January 2006.
Dentist Abroad helped him with his travel arrangements and after spending five days in Budapest Mr Smith returned to the UK with eight implants and temporary restorations. After a four month healing period Mr Smith will return to Hungary for his new teeth to be attached to the implants. While the first session of his implant surgery would have cost him over £12,000 in the UK it came to only £3,400 in Hungary. In his second session he will receive about 16 crowns and will save an extra £5,000. Even with the additional two return flights (approximately £200) and accommodation costs (a single room in the four star Margitsziget Thermal Hotel costing approximately £400 for eight nights) Mr Smith saved a considerable amount of money.
Mr Smith said: “Everything was so well organised, as soon as I was collected from the airport to the surgery I was taken straight through and the equipment was of the latest design. I had the feeling throughout that I was in very safe hands”.
