Gout treatment
Gout is a type of inflammatory arthritis characterised by swelling and intense pain in an affected joint, most commonly the base of the big toe. It is caused by a build up of uric acid, a natural waste product of purine metabolism, in the body. This may occur because the body is producing too much uric acid or because not enough is being excreted via the kidneys.
Unlike other forms of arthritis, in cases of gout further damage to the joints can be avoided with the correct management and treatment. An expert on the treatment of gout, Mr Baburaj offers a range of medications and self-care techniques to relieve the symptoms and prevent further attacks.
