Women worry about their bottoms

For many women their bottom is an area that causes them to feel self conscious and leads to the age old question “does my bum look big in this?”.

Not surprisingly it’s the area that most women feel self conscious about with a new survey revealing a staggering 85 per cent of women worry about the size and shape of their posterior.

The study also discovered that clothes shopping caused 55 per cent of women to feel self conscious and 62 per cent of women didn’t know how to dress their behind this party season.

With celebrities such as J-Lo and Kim Kardashian sporting a curvier figure it’s no surprise that women are seeking cosmetic surgery to enhance their bottoms.

Buttock lifts and body sculpting are just some of the top procedures used to gain a curvy backside as well as liposuction which has seen a 64 per cent rise in popularity since 2009 according to leading cosmetic surgery provider, The Hospital Group.

Interestingly the study also found that women’s bottoms now have four different shapes including the tomato, the potato, the pear and the nectarine.

The tomato shape, which is “bigger, plumper, rounder and squishy”, now makes up 45 per cent of women’s bums followed by the potato shape which is seen on 30 per cent of women and is wide, long and frumpy.

Other bottom shapes include the pear which is narrower at the top and almost twice the size of the fullest part of the bottom and the perfect derriere is the nectarine which looks like two bowling balls pushed together.

For those worrying about their looks The Hospital Group, one of the UK’s leading cosmetic surgeons, offer an array of body-enhancing treatments such as breast enlargement and tummy tucks, as well as non-invasive procedures including BOTOX™, fillers and cosmetic dentistry.

David Ross, Chief Executive of The Hospital Group said: “Changing the way you look can often improve a whole person’s outlook on life giving them greater confidence and higher self esteem.

“The Hospital Group offer a number of cosmetic surgery procedures to help women shape up and get body confident.

“Liposuction and sculpture will help tone the bottom and give it a smoother, curvy shape, while breast augmentation can help to create that hourglass figure.

“The Hospital group provide expert advice and treatments in state-of-the-art facilities to ensure that patients get the look they are after.”
