We are living longer than expected

New research from Swiss Re says that we are living longer than all the experts predicted.

This is good news for people but bad news for life and health insurers as forecasting rises in life expectancy and how long we stay healthy is more difficult than in the past.

The research makes it much harder for life or health insurers to justify not accepting new business from people over 60, 65 or even 70.

80 is becoming the average life of a normal person.

Should ‘Three score years and ten’ now be ‘ Three score years and twenty’ or ‘Three score years and a quarter of a century’?
