Tesco launch own private medical insurance

Tesco is moving  into the private medical insurance market.

The UK's largest supermarket chain is planning to offer policies to its customers in partnership with AXA PPP healthcare.

Products will be tesco branded under the Tesco Personal Finance subsidiary, which alreasy sells a wide range of insurance and banking products for individuals and small businesses, including life insurance.

The company is thought to be planning to launch a string of in-store products to appeal to shoppers with different needs, varying from basic to high end cover.

Tesco refuse to give details as it is company policy to refuse to provide any information on future events, promotions or product launches.

The official launch is  due in December, but previous insurance products have been quietly launched on a pilot basis , up to 5 months before  a full officiall national launch.
