Standard Life wins children's concert award

Standard Life has won the Arts, Business & Sustainability category at the Arts and Business Awards, in recognition of the company’s established and ongoing partnership with Children’s Classic Concerts.

For thirteen years the Children's Classic Concerts organisation has been delighting families and school parties with their fun-filled introduction to live orchestral music. In recent years† concerts have also included jazz, traditional Celtic, world music and percussion in the lively mix of entertainment and education that regularly sells out at concert halls in Scotland.

The aim of Children's Classic Concerts is to provide a relaxed and inclusive experience for concertgoers with lots of audience participation during the concert and the opportunity for children to meet conductors, presenters and musicians.

Over the years, the numbers benefiting from Children’s Classic Concerts have increased and the programme now enables over 17,000 people to attend classical music concerts and a further 2,700 children to participate in associated education events, which introduce children to the instruments and format of a classical orchestral concert.

Children's Classic Concerts is a non-profit making organisation that believes in the importance of live music for children of all ages. The organisation relies on sponsorship and public support to continue to deliver quality concerts and education projects to Scotland's children.
