Specialist cancer care nurse funded by Simplyhealth

A donation of £25,000 from healthcare provider Simplyhealth has resulted in children's cancer charity, CLIC Sargent, funding a specialist young person's cancer care nurse at Southampton General Hospital - Jo Ayton.

Jo comments: "The work of CLIC Sargent is so important in the lives of many young people with cancer. My role is to support teenagers and young adults and their families throughout their treatment and be available to provide information and advice whether in hospital or at home. The funding has enabled me to provide a service for all young patients ensuring they receive age appropriate clinical and emotional care. Every day, ten families are told that their child has cancer' CLIC Sargent nurses throughout the UK are here to help as many children and young people as we can survive cancer and live their lives to the full."
