Skandia improves critical illness cover and cuts prices

From February, Skandia is slashing prices across its Skandia Protect range by an average of 17.5%.

In addition to the price cuts, it is making a number of changes to its Skandia Protect range of life and critical illness products.

Three new illnesses conditions are being added, taking the total number covered by the product range to 31. In addition, an ‘enhanced’ range of seven rider benefits is being added to the existing low-grade cancer covers. For each of these, Skandia Protect can pay up to £10,000 for each benefit without reducing the sum assured for future CI claims or ending the policy. The new rider benefits include low grade prostate cancer and mastectomy covers and add benefits such as the loss of one limb, loss of an eye, or third degree burns covering 5% -19% of the body.

Skandia has also removed the suicide exclusion from all forms of Skandia Protect life cover.
