Cosmetic surgery 'considered by mothers'

Recent research has revealed that cosmetic surgery is under consideration by a number of mothers.

Conducted by MyFaceMyBody.com, the survey found that 39 per cent of mothers would think about having a surgical procedure in order to regain the body they had before giving birth.

Extra weight was found to be the main concern, with 34 per cent of mothers citing it as their top worry after childbirth.

However, stretch marks were also identified as a problem with 24 per cent of women listing them as an issue.

Loose skin, cellulite and sagging breasts also caused women to worry over their post-baby bodies.

Stephen Handisides, presenter and cosmetic procedure expert from the website, commented: "Cosmetic surgery can deliver fantastic results but it's important that patients continue to look after their health with good fitness and eating."

He added: "Without that, their bodies are likely to return to a similar body shape they had before surgery."
