WPA supports Financial Ombudsman plan to name and shame offenders

WPA logo

Julian Stainton of health insurer WPA who has long campaigned for this says, “It is a marvellous step forward. It is disgraceful that for so long this information has been kept secret. Without any qualitative information on financial companies all customers have to go by is price. This has driven a culture of cheap, cheaper and cheapest in the insurance industry. The Ombudsman reports on some dreadful miscarriages of justices, now at least we will know which firms should be held accountable for these problems. This should in the long term improve standards and give consumers sufficient knowledge and information to make more informed decisions when buying insurance."
