Many Britons head away on winters sports holidays each year.
The Ski Club Great Britain has warned that many head out to the slopes without any travel insurance at all, and has issued some tips for those looking to get on the piste this winter.
Check that the policy covers you for all the activities you are indulging in, as many travel insurance policies will not cover parapenting, tobogganing or dog sledding.
Check the travel insurance providers' definition of off-piste, as well as ensuring the policy covers delays to flights, accidents and breakdowns.
Check that their cover for baggage is adequate to include skis and winter clothing.
Check that it covers you for medical emergency assistance services, such as air ambulances to at least £2 million.
