Women 'want to look 10 years younger'

Eyelid surgery
Nearly half of women wish that they could look ten years younger, according to a recent survey by skincare company RoC.

The Johnson & Johnson subsidiary found that 45 per cent of women wanted to knock ten years off their appearance, believing that looking younger would help them to look and feel more confident.

In addition, their survey found that nearly all women between the ages of 25 and 29 thought that they were showing "signs of aging", with many 25-year-olds already splashing out on skin care products to try and slow the progression of visible aging.

For the majority of women, the main concern tends to be the eye area, with 60 per cent of respondents insisting that that area exhibits the first signs of facial aging.

This undoubtedly explains why cosmetic surgery around the eyes is so popular, with growing numbers of women seeking cosmetic eyelid surgery to correct droopy eyelids and the puffy bags below their eyes.

The procedure, which is provided in private hospitals, is usually performed under local anaesthesia and can significantly enhance appearance and improve peripheral vision.
