On Thursday, September 28th, health cash insurer Medicash will celebrate its 135th anniversary with a gala evening in its home city of Liverpool.
Medicash will distribute £270,000 to charity on the night, which will be hosted by former footballer Alan Hansen.
One of the oldest health cash plan providers in the UK, Medicash will donate the money to 18 local and national charities that have each been selected for their commitment to improving the lives of others around the UK.
Medicash Chief Executive Bill Gaywood says: "Medicash was founded 135 years ago to help the people of Liverpool meet their healthcare costs. Since then it has played a pivotal role in the support of charitable causes. Now in this special anniversary year we feel it is only right to mark this event with our single largest ever donation to charity. It makes us feel very proud to know that the sum of £270,000, which represents £2,000 for every year since Medicash was founded, will be distributed amongst a number of very worthwhile causes".
