Resolutions to get healthy

Research conducted by LifeSearch suggests that just as people commit to a healthier lifestyle in January, they also consider taking out a life insurance policy. With gym membership sign-ups peaking, cigarettes ditched and people turning away from junk food, New Year resolutions are in full force in 2010 and it seems that this positive outlook is being mirrored in more long term aims.

Proof that people are dedicated to living healthily at the beginning of the new decade is demonstrated through online search trends across the year and health-related searches peaking in January.  People are also thinking about the importance of their lives by searching for life insurance, with a huge volume of searches in January. Online search trends for life insurance lulled at the end of 2009, but have peaked dramatically in January, demonstrating a mass consciousness of the importance of being healthy and to get that health covered in the New Year.

Those who gave up smoking last year may be able to get a better deal on a life insurance policy as a healthy non-smoking lifestyle is looked on favourably by life insurance providers, with many of the best policies reserved only for those who are active and lead healthy lifestyles.
