Progress from Royal Liver adds nine new critical illnesses

A number of product improvements have been introduced by Progress from Royal Liver.

In the latest changes, the insurer has increased the number of illnesses covered, extended the scope of cover for a number of definitions and added an extremely competitive pricing structure.

The changes are the result of detailed market research, including feedback from consumers.

Nine new conditions are now covered, including:

  • Bacterial meningitis for adults
  • Open-heart surgery
  • Rheumatoid arthritis - chronic and severe
  • Pulmonary artery surgery
  • Encephalitis

Mike Farrell, for Progress from Royal Liver, says: "We are extremely proud of the changes as they will help us to deliver even more peace of mind to our customers. Not only are we extending the level of protection on offer, we are keeping our price incredibly competitive, which has to be a good thing."

Children are now covered for all conditions.

Progress’ Stephen Edwards says: “We now cover every condition available in the market which we consider critical. The improvements add real value in terms of paying extra claims. Whilst the rarer conditions might already be covered under total permanent disability, we decided to include them as separate conditions to provide clarity and confidence that they are covered.”
