Older travellers should get right travel insurance

Older customers need to think about having appropriate travel insurance in place before they go abroad this winter, urges money saving website moneymaxim.co.uk.

Premiums for those aged 65-74 are up to three times higher than for younger travellers, as insurers allege that those over 65 are more likely to need to make a claim on their insurance.

Mark Bower from moneymaxim.co.uk explains, “Something to keep an eye out for is pre-existing medical conditions. If you have a medical condition you really need to shop around for specialist insurance to ensure that you have the right cover for your specific needs. The main benefit of this type of insurance is that it allows people who have pre-existing medical conditions to go abroad with peace of mind without having to worry about extra medical costs in case something happens.”
