Nearly 30% of employers are placing greater emphasis on promoting access to health and wellbeing initiatives compared to last year, according to this year's Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development /Simplyhealth absence management survey.
The survey also found that nearly 46% of employers have a health and wellbeing strategy in place. The most common benefits provided are access to counselling services and employee assistance programmes.
Kelly Morris for Simplyhealth comments: "Employers are turning to health and wellbeing benefits to help engage employees and support them through these tough times. Helping to keep employees happy and healthy is key to driving productivity and to reducing stress and absence in the workplace. Benefits such as health cash plans are a simple and affordable way of helping employees to claim money back for trips to the dentist, optician and for complementary therapies such as physiotherapy which help support everyday health needs."
