Fortis has begun the change of name to Ageas. This follows the approval of shareholders earlier in the year to adopt the new name reflecting the company's status as a standalone global insurance group after the disposal of its banking assets in 2009.
The changes are now being implemented as part of a phased approach to ensure a smooth transition. All changes are expected to be complete by the end of the first quarter of 2011.
The name is accompanied by a fresh look and feel. The free-drawn coloured circles around the name in the logo express a sense of energy and desire to get things done.
The company's legal entities will change:

Fortis UK is now Ageas UK

Fortis Insurance Limited is now Ageas Insurance Limited

Fortis Life will change to Ageas in January 2011

RIAS will retain the same brand name
